Mary Linnell represents Subdivision 2 - Hafford & Maymont. As a retired teacher, she is still very interested in the educational community so becoming a board member is a new challenge for her and a chance to promote all aspects of education in Living Sky School Division.

School boards are publicly elected to govern Pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 education in their school divisions and are essential members of local government. They ensure that the wishes of the community are reflected in the division's schools and make decisions that shape the education of Saskatchewan's children. The Living Sky School Division Board of education is governed by ten members. The first board was elected in June 2005. Six board members represent rural areas in subdivisions one through six, one member is from the Town of Battleford and three members are elected from the City of North Battleford.
