Student Accident Claim Process (AIG Accident & Health)
Process for any accidents occurring after March 1, 2026:
- Claim Submission
- Claimants (or parents/guardians) complete the AIG Accident Claim Form
and submit:- The completed Claimant’s Statement
- Attending Physician’s Statement (if applicable)
- The completed Claimant’s Statement
- Claims should be submitted directly to AIG via:

- Claimants (or parents/guardians) complete the AIG Accident Claim Form
- Claim Setup & Acknowledgement
- Once AIG receives the claim, it is set up in their system.
- An acknowledgement will be sent to the claimant.
- A claims examiner will be assigned within 24 hours of the first notice of loss.
- Once AIG receives the claim, it is set up in their system.
- Forms & Statements Stage
- AIG will review the submission and, if needed, request any missing forms:
- Claimant statement
- Employer/administration (school division) statement
- Claimant statement

- Research & Documentation
- AIG may request additional information or documentation if required to assess the claim, which could include:
- Clinical notes or medical records
- Hospital or patient records
- Other supporting documentation related to the incident

- Final Decision & Payment
- AIG will provide the claimant with a written decision once all necessary documents are received.
- Approved claims will be paid by cheque or EFT, as indicated by AIG’s process.
